Voice Interface for elVIAS

This presentation will discussVoice elVIAS, which is research that concentrates
on the problem of designing and developing a voice user interface to access
elVIAS (http://elvias.ncsa.uiuc.edu/). The elVIAS search engine is an information
retrieval, archival, and processing system for the ELearning domain. Voice elVIAS
integrates automatic speech recognition (ASR) and information retrieval (IR)
to provide hands-free, eyes-free access to data. This presentation will give
an overview Voice elVIAS and provide a demonstration of the system. Additionally,
the presentation will discuss future directions for using voice in information
retrieval.
The NCSA Seminar Series is a set of presentations on high
performance computing and related research. Typically, the seminars are presented
on Tuesday afternoons and are available onsite at the presenting institution
