Java GSI-SSHTerm FAQ |
- No, once you have a proxy via a MyProxy server or User Certificate, you
can connect to the remote machine.
- By default, proxies expire after 12 hours, but you can set the length of
time that you want the proxy to be valid for by clicking the
Advanced button instead of the Ok button in your
"Connect to host" dialogue
box.
To see how much time is left unitl your proxy expires, select the
Proxy Info option from the
"Proxy" menu item in the menu bar.
- Check the status bar (4th section) at the bottom of GSI-SSHTerm window.
It can have 4 values:
- <blank>
- connecting
- connected
- disconnected
If the status bar has the values <blank>,
connected or disconnected then try going through
the steps for "new connection".
If the status bar has the value connecting, then GSI-SSHTerm is
talking with the remote machine's server in order to open your session.
Sometimes a first connection indicates "Connected" in the status bar at
the bottom of the application, but session does not display logon info
and system prompt, and users are unable to issue commands.
If users connect a second
time, the application/applet behaves as expected.
- When in full screen mode, users must point their mouse to the top, left
most corner of the screen to make menu bar visible, before using the hot
keys(ALT + F) to toggle off the full screen mode.
- [Windows and Mac OS X -- Only] Drag and drop functionality works just
one way, from your explorer/finder window to the SFTP session window.
