NCSA aims to reduce waste

NCSA's Human Resources staff collaborated with the center's Public Affairs Division to develop the "NCSA Goes Green" campaign. The campaign encourages NCSA staffers to reduce energy consumption, increase recycling, and cut down on waste.

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has established a goal of reducing campus energy consumption by 10 percent over the next three years, with a five-year target of rolling back energy usage to 1990 standards.

The first round of Go Green tips were posted at NCSA in May:

• Have you mugged your coffee today?
• We're smart, maybe our offices shouldn't be so bright.
• How well do you know the 3 R's?
