Undergrad Hourly/Grad Research Assistant

Available Fall 2008

Overview:

As part of the NCSA/University of Illinois Faculty Fellows Program grant, we have an opening for an undergraduate or graduate research assistant or hourly student employee to extend the functionality of software for sound synthesis and composition and implement new GUI and web-based interfaces for the application.

Primary responsibilities will include designing and programming in C++ under Linux and writing CGI scripts for web server. The position is for the 2008/2009 academic year with starting date September 1.

Required Qualifications:

• Excellent knowledge of C++, including STL
• HTML, CGI and scripting languages for Web server applications
• Familiarity with Linux OS and Apache HTTP server

Preferred Qualifications:

• GUI design experience
• Basic training in music composition
