NCSA aims to forge strong ties with the University of Illinois community and with researchers across the country and around the world.
The center offers campus, summer, and international fellowships that enable researchers to combine their vision with NCSA's capabilities to tackle problems and projects that would otherwise be out of reach.
The NCSA Campus Affiliates Program allows faculty at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to explore new applications of advanced computing and information technology through a zero percent NCSA appointment. Affiliates can obtain access to resources, including NCSA's high-performance computing and storage systems, support for performance optimization and engineering, benchmarking, and algorithm development, support for scientific visualization projects, and other opportunities to work with NCSA staff and partners. To be considered for affiliate status, a faculty member should submit, in collaboration with one or more NCSA staffers at the division director or higher level, a brief statement describing how affiliation with NCSA would benefit the applicant's research and relate to NCSA's mission and projects. Statements should be directed to Radha Nandkumar.
The International Affiliates Program promotes relationships with organizations outside the United States that share NCSA's interests in high-performance computing, networking, and storage, visualization and data analysis, etc. The program provides opportunities for sharing information, joint initiatives, and staff exchanges.
